Synopsis of the Work

Taking advantage of the perceptual aspects relevant to the visual and sound components, the specific opera investigates the connection between absurd and real, signifier and signified, interior and exterior world during the enforced confinement. Both the visual and sound materials used are strongly connected to the current pandemic situation, despite the fact that they do not always correspond to it. Such a current reality leads to a psychological and social imprisonment of the individual, an exasperation of their way and their time in which they live in the physical spaces of their own house and in the negation of the sociality in which they were used before.
The choice of the languages used includes Italian, Greek, French and English: the two mother tongues of the Ensemble's members (Italian and Greek) and those of the original version of the works from which the extracts were taken (English and French). The use of the audio error and the consequent exaggeration symbolizes the emotional and social short circuit that people at a global level had to face. The images and part of the audio have been created through software made ad hoc, in which the fragments taken from the original works of Camus, Ionesco and Beckett are typed.
